Matt & Dragons

This morning as Matt was gathering his stuff before heading to work, he said to me like a little boy heading off to school, "See ya, I gotta work on 'Dragons.'"

Matt is one of the main dudes creating the graphics for a new arena show based on the DreamWorks film "How To Train Your Dragon."  All his work will be projected on the large screens and arena floor to create a vibrant environment for the animatronics and actors/actresses to move within.  The aim is to also develop it in a way for the audience to feel as though they are in the movie and part of the show.

What you probably won't hear about is the fact that the graphics for the show were not directly created by DreamWorks.  Rather, they were based on the movie and Spinifex Group (the Australian design agency Matt works for) supplied the incredible talent to create the breathtaking scenes for the show.  The big dudes from DreamWorks actually had to fly out to Australia to review the graphics being developed for the show and Matt got to meet them and hear their direct feedback on his work.

"How To Train Your Dragon - Arena Spectacular" begins its world premiere in Australia first.  Here's a link to the commercial.  I'm so proud of Matt and extremely excited for his work to be showcased around the globe.
