Back in the land of California, it's my favourite time of the year--autumn. Foliage begins to change colour, transforming into bright yellows, oranges, and deep reds. The leaves then shift in texture dropping onto streets and sprinkling onto sidewalks as children run through them, making delightful crunching sounds against the concrete. Families are gathering in preparation for a warm Thanksgiving feast together and best of all, pumpkin is practically infused into almost every type of food imaginable.
But here in opposite land, the weather can't seem to make up its mind with its mix of thunderstorms and steamy hot days. Flowers are blooming and the already sticky humid air is now chock full of pollen. It's my most dreaded time of the year because it means Matt and I will be communicating with each other via sneeze and sniffle. Yes, it is spring and we've been counting down the days until summer. Dear December, where are you? Please come quickly.
